Source code for the Data Miner module. This module is gathers NHL player data and provides a web service for Hockey pool users to use the Auto Update feature. It's been a while since I've looked at this and there is no documentation. So you are on your own with this.

Here are the basic notes I use to remind myself how to set things up for each pool.

Set Up Data Gather
1. Create Pool in Data Miner - Hockey
2. Import NHLTeams.xml
3. Data Miner will create player records
4. Set Data Storage -
4.1 DataMiner - NHL Stats
4.2 Select DataMiner Hockey pool to use to store data
5. Set Update Key - for 2007 playoffs use NHL2007P
6. Set Data Miner setting History ON
7. Set Data Miner setting Current OFF
8. Set Data Miner setting Playoffs OFF
9. Set Data Year - for 2007 use 2006
10. Turn Data Miner Scheduler ON
11.Export Data Miner - Hockey Pool

SET UP Hockey Pool
1. Create Pool on public facing site.
2. Import Pool .xml file created from Data Miner - Hockey
3. Set Auto Update ON
4. Import NHLPlayers.xml if new players need to be added

Pre-Playoffs
1. Set Data Miner setting History ON (creates regular season stats)
2. Update Playoff teams in Data Miner - Hockey as teams make playoffs

Eve of Playoffs
1. Set Data Miner setting History OFF
2. Set Data Miner setting Current ON
3. Set Data Miner setting Playoffs ON

Post-Playoffs
1. Turn Data Miner Schedule OFF

Module Info

I wrote these modules several years ago for use on DNN 3.x websites. Circumstances have prevented me from upgrading the modules for newer versions of DotNetNuke, so I've decided to release source so others can upgrade the modules as necessary. You are free to download, use, modify, re-distribute these modules as you wish. If you do upgrade the modules, please make them available to others and let me know so I can point people to the latest versions. If you would like me to host upgraded versions I am happy to, just send me the zip file(s).
